| Paris, Paul Catin. 1927. 4to. 117pp. A collection of 16 love poems, each based on a particlular flower, by artist and poet, Francois Gauzi, friend and contemporary of Toulouse-Lautrec. To each poem is attributed a portrait of a lady (very 'epoque') - together with in-text drawings of the flowers and other decorations. This copy bears a presentation inscription from the author to Louis Lacrosse, art critic of the time. Limited edition of just 150 copies - this copy # 103. Original printed wraps; front cover torn at base of spine and along part of spine edge. Light diagonal crease affecting central part of most pages; but a very acceptable copy, nonetheless of this rare and interesting work. |
